Applying for University Credit

Many career centers require students to submit a learning proposal in order to be approved to receive academic credit for a work assignment. We encourage students to apply for credit while interning with GotGameU, and have put together an extensive white paper which details what is required to receive such approval. The four primary aspects are listed below.

The Four Components Of a Learning Proposal:

1. Position Description: This should be written in the student’s own words, and describe the general responsibilities of their role in the internship.

2. Specific activities to be conducted during the work assignment: This part should give a detailed picture of how the student is spending his or her day, what tasks are being completed and what resources are being used to get the job done.

3. Learning outcomes to be achieved through the work assignment: What academic and professional results are achieved through involvement in the program, and completion of the activities listed above.

4. Time spent on the work assignment. Here the student should indicate how many hours a week will be spent on activities outlined in the proposal, and how long the assignment is expected to last.
